DAY 18 – 2

Today is an ‘at sea’ day and it’s a perfect day with calm seas. Beginning to warm up a bit, today’s expected high is 22C.  We love the sea days as it gives us some time to relax especially after the 4 ports of call in a row.

We are enjoying our Aft corner cabin with the large balcony with 2 chairs a little table and 2 loungers.  Now that we are cruising toward warmer climates I can see we’ll be spending quite some time out there. We can see 180 plus degrees of viewing area. Glad we brought our binoculars.

This morning we passed Menorca a lovely island of the Spanish coast. I read on the Chart this morning that tomorrow at noon we will be sailing between Sicily and Malta.

It’s nice meeting new people at breakfast this morning who boarded the ship in Barcelona.  There appear to be many different nationalities on this leg of the cruise.

Roys outside taking photos of two birds that have just landed on the railing to hitch a ride with us to Alexandria, Egypt. They appear to be Doves. So that’s 3 birds and a moth we’ve had on the balcony since we left New Orleans.  Do we call them ‘boat people too?’….. lol.  J One more to add to the list, a little ladybird just landed on the deck chair, must have stowed away from Barcelona and been hiding somewhere. J

This afternoon we spent lazying out on the balcony.  It feels like it’s warming up by the hour. J The sunsets are going to be amazing, we missed it tonight as we met for drinks at the Pig and Whistle for drinks then went to the show.

We really do love the second sitting dining it’s so leisurely.  Tonight we sat down to eat at 8.30pm and got up from the table at 11.00pm.  The time goes by so quickly eating, chatting enjoying a nice wine and a laugh and a chat with our Waiters who are excellent.

A lady had a fall today and has broken her hip.  She will have to be disembarked when we reach Alexandria Egypt in a couple of days for surgery. An unfortunate thing to happen. Makes us all realise the true value of good insurance cover when travelling.

Sending love to our son Chris today as he has wisdom teeth removed.  Hope all went well and you can soon celebrate that they are gone. J We will call you from Alexandria, meantime we know you’ll have all the love and cuddles you need from Donna, Lilli and Oscar.  Love Mum and Dad xxx
